Description

Kilchoman is one of Scotland's younger whisky distilleries and one of nine active whisky distilleries on the Hebridean island of Islay in Scotland.

This whisky is bottled at cask strength, which gives it its powerful intensity and depth. Diluting it with a few drops of water can release additional aromas. Kilchoman does not use chill-filtration, which gives the whisky its natural oils and a fuller taste. Matured in selected ex-bourbon casks, which provide a pronounced vanilla and oak note, as well as a small proportion of sherry casks, which add fruity nuances. The Kilchoman Batch Strength Release is a must for fans of strong Islay whiskies who love the smoky and maritime nature of this region. It is perfect to be enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to unleash the full potential of its flavors.

This whisky opens with strong notes of peat smoke, accompanied by sweet vanilla notes and a pleasant freshness. Citrus fruits such as lemon and lime combine harmoniously with a hint of sea salt and campfire smoke. On the palate, an intense blend of smoky peat, rich malt and sweet fruity notes unfolds, enhanced by the high cask strength. Layers of honey, vanilla and savory spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg add depth and complexity to the whisky. The finish is lingering, warming and smoky, with a salty tang and a slight sweetness that lingers gently on the palate.
